Today was the very last clinical day for second semester. YAY
Not sure how I feel about the way they are wrapping it up though. We get our clinical evaluation and final grade from our last clinical instructor.

Scenario:
You’re the RN.
Patient is end-stage something or other which causes severe pain. They are DNR and are asking for pain meds. They are aware that the dosage needed to address their pain could be lethal.
You know that administering this dose will most likely lead to their death.

What a relief the day after Angels Among Us is.
1. It feels great to run a 5k. This year I ran the entire length (last year had to stop a couple of times d/t side splints).

This week continues the Sim Labs in lieu of Clinical.
Tomorrow is Adolescent. Thursday is a dehydrated toddler.
We’ll be dealing with an adolescent with ADHD and a substance problem.

They have taken the “real” L&D clinical rotation out of our program and we now have a couple of days of L&D simulation lab. Today was day 1. I was the midwife. I tried to be the laboring mother, but no dice.
